چکیده

Within a supersymmetric unified framework we explore the resolution of the gauge hierarchy problem taking account of the non-renormalizable terms in the superpotential. For [SU (3)] 3 supplemented by a discrete R parity, we find the remarkable property that the vacuum configuration corresponding to the correct gauge symmetry breaking remains flat (in the supersymmetric limit) to all orders in M −1 P lanck. The grand unification scale arises from an interplay of the Planck and supersymmetry breaking scales. An 'internal' Z 3 ⊗ Z 4 symmetry protects a pair of electroweak doublets from becoming su-perheavy, yielding at the same time the supersymmetric 'µ term' with 1 the right order of magnitude. The Z 4 symmetry acts as matter parity and eliminates the dangerous baryon number violating couplings.

In minimal supergravity theories the soft supersymmetry breaking (SSB) parameters are universal (flavor blind) near the Planck scale. Nevertheless, one often assumes universality at the grand-unification scale MG ≈ 10 GeV instead, and corrections to the SSB parameters arising from their evolution between the Planck and GUT scales are neglected. We study these corrections and show that large spl...

Here we take up two such models, the presence of which turns out to alter the standard model prediction for muon g − 2 significantly: one is TeV scale gravity scenario, the other supersymmetric model, in the l...

In the context of the standard SUSY GUT scenario, we present a detailed analysis of the softly broken finite supersymmetric grand unified theory. The model, albeit non-minimal, remains very rigid due to the requirement of finite-ness. It is based on the SU (5) gauge group and is UV finite to all orders of perturbation theory. It contains three generations of the matter fields together with four...

In the Standard Model of elementary particle physics, electroweak symmetry breaking is achieved by a Higgs scalar doublet with a negative (mass). The Standard Model has the well known gauge hierarchy problem: quadratically divergent quantum corrections drive the Higgs mass and thus the weak scale to the scale of new physics. Thus, if the scale of new physics is say the Planck scale, then correc...
